Methodology
How Redirect Checker works
Does HTTP correctly redirect to HTTPS? Checks for mixed content and missing HSTS.
Is www → non-www (or vice versa) consistent and returning a single 301?
Each extra hop wastes crawl budget and dilutes PageRank. Detects chains with 3+ redirects.
What HTTP status does the final URL return? 200, 404, 410, or another redirect?
Does the canonical on the final page match the final URL — or point elsewhere?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a redirect chain?
A redirect chain is a sequence of multiple redirects — e.g., URL A → B → C. Each hop adds latency and reduces PageRank passed to the final page.
How many redirects is too many?
Google recommends keeping chains to a maximum of 1 redirect. Chains of 3+ hops are flagged as performance and crawl-budget problems.
What is a redirect loop?
A loop occurs when URL A redirects to B, and B redirects back to A (or further along). The browser hits the hop limit and returns an error.
Does HTTPS redirect affect SEO?
Yes. A missing or incorrect HTTP→HTTPS redirect can split PageRank between the HTTP and HTTPS versions of a page.
